Hi, I currently have a domain registered with hostgator.com… but I have my hosting service at 2mhost.com. Does my domain name and hosting service have to be the same place in order for me to make a website?

How can I transfer a domain name that my friend bought into my name?

Me and a friend of mine used to co-own a website. I paid for all the hosting and such like which was registered in my name and he purchased the domain name, which was registered in his name. Now he wishes to leave the website and has agreed to transfer the domain name to me. Only thing is we don’t know how to formally go about changing the ownership details of the domain name.

I stopped using my domain about 3 months ago. I stopped hosting it at the I.S.P. I was using. The domain name is payed for and still listed on who-is look-up; showing me to still be the owner. I was getting ready to open the website again, yet I found another website using my web domain. What can I do to stop them? Is there legal action or laws they have broken? What are my options?

Beginning a blog, help?

I’m pretty new with creating actual domain web sites and things like that. I’m pretty set on starting a blog with an actual .com domain name, but I’m not sure exactly what is needed. Does anyone know how i should start? I need a domain and host for a reasonable price that supports the blogging feature, and i have no idea what a good blogging software really is. so in short, any help on the subject would be beneficial.
