How much does a web design cost?
November 6th, 2009 Posted by: admin
I need to set up a simple, one page website for my mom’s business with address, personal contact info and new patient information packets available for download on the site. Anyone know a ball park of what a design would cost and do you have a referral?

The simpler the better…and less expensive….try searching the web for freelance web designers in your area.

there are many one page websites that are available from your ISP at no charge. check with your ISP and see if you can do this for little or no cost. you may be surprised.
hope this helps.

please, dont pay for something you could do so easily. Just learn about css and you can make really good page designs quickly.

For a one-page website design, you shouldn’t be paying more than $20. I would recommend asking around your friends and family, someone’s bound to know something or two about web design.
For a business, you will also probably want a domain name to seem more professional. Geocities has great uptime, but if you want the best price check web hosting search engines like HostSearch.com. Because it is just a small page, you won’t need more than 150 mbs unless you use storage. Depending on how many visitors you expect, you won’t need more than 5gb of monthly bandwidth. I would recommend MaxieHost (http://www.maxiehost.com/us/shared.htm) with Plan One or Two. It’s really cheap and close to the dollar-per-month price range.
Feel free to ask me anything else!

If you register your domain name with GoDaddy.com, they give you free web hosting but it has some text ads at the top. Probably not what you want for a professional site, but I think they offer some discounts if you sign up for paid hosting at the same time you register the domain name.
If you do get someone to design it for you, don’t try to get out super cheap (e.g. $20). I wouldn’t turn on my computer for $20, let alone make a decent web site. You have to spend money to make money!
